When I lived in Los Angeles, poke joints were opening up on every corner but they were almost always owned by some conglomerate, paying their employees poorly, and had a Chipotle / Subway kind if pre-made setup.
Poke Tropical is the opposite. A small business run by folks who clearly put a lot of thought into their craft. The fish is fresh. The vegetables are fresh. Loved the gyoza. Loved the Harvest Bowl. The neighborhood is alive in a way that's hard to find these days. You can watch it all from their beautiful front window. Would absolutely recommend. -

Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. My family has visited Hawaii before and they think these bowls are just like poke you'd find there.
There's a set menu that gives you bowl and burrito ideas or you can make your own. A few of us ordered the salmon oasis bowl, my sister ordered the salmon samba burrito and I made my own bowl. The fish is super fresh and it is a giant portion of rice, fish and veggies. You can also substitute things into the burrito or bowls if you'd like as well. I loved ordering a custom bowl so I can add in what I wanted. Their prices are super affordable- around $12 for a bowl and $11 for a burrito.
The people that worked there were super helpful when making menu choices for a first timer. They were more than willing to make any substitutions and also offered to put sauce on the side. The restaurant is very clean, although it's not much of a sit-in type of place.. I'd recommend ordering out or picking up.
Absolutely a place I would return to and would recommend to anyone. -

First time having a poke bowl, so I have nothing to compare it to. Well, other than, I guess, deconstructed sushi and a donburi dish.
Pros: I got my order within a half hour to 45-minutes. The dish looked and tasted absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend the Yuzu miso sauce and spicy ponzu sauce together. The size of the cuts was a good size, especially with chopsticks. Options for toppings was pretty diverse, and quite a lot that I enjoy (i.e. edamame, ginger, tamagoyaki/sweet egg, seaweed salad).
Cons: I didn't care for the zucchini in the vegetable tempura. It was a bit mushy in my opinion, but it may also have to do with ordering my food for delivery. I considered doing a base of mixed greens, but I didn't know what that would include (I'm picky).
I would definitely order again when staying in AC. I may consider trying the seafood harvest bowl. I got the 2 protein bowl, by the way. -

Really really fresh poke here !! I usually order the spicy tuna which is covered in spicy mayo in New York but this place has a different type of spicy tuna. It seems like they marinate their tuna in a spicy soy sauce (?). But other than that they are super nice and welcoming
I got the eel poke bowl and spicy tuna both were really good ! I also had a seaweed salad in mine which tasted a little funny. Seemed as if it went back just recently and it ruined each bite I took with it. We also ordered the shrimp tempura which was crispy and came with a nice thick sauce along with it. So so good !!
